Master Thesis - RF Sensing(755963)
What you will do:
- Develop and implement new functionalities into an existing OFDM-based radar setup, based on Xilinx RF System-on-Chip (RF SoC).
- Implementation of beamforming controller for the RF front end via an FPGA.
- Implementation of different sensing algorithms, e.g., muti-target tracking.
- Collect radar measurement data, explore opportunities of applying AI/ML to estimate the range and doppler of an object and compare its accuracy/performance with the traditional signal processing methods.
- Application of AI/ML in target tracking.
The skills you bring:
- Final year master’s student in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer science, Embedded systems or similar.
- Genuine interest in wireless communication and software development.
- Experience in FPGA programming using Vivado, Xilinx IP blocks, etc. Able to generate different waveforms in Vivado such as Linear Frequency Modulated (LFM), Phase Shift Keying (PSK), On Off Keying (OOK) etc.
- Some knowledge about Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), able to program a device over SPI interface.
- Some knowledge about GPIO interface.
- Understanding of AXI/AXIS protocols, writing drivers for custom IP blocks.
- Some knowledge of the PYNQ framework is a plus.
- Eager to learn, ambitious, having an innovative mentality as well as being a true standout colleague.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written communication.
Based on the scope, this thesis could be carried out by one or two students. Location: Lund
