Assessing and Designing within sustainability transitions, 6 Credits

The course aims to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on methods and tools to analyze ecological, social and economic sustainability impacts, and iteratively improve the sustainability performance of design solution concepts. Participants will gain knowledge and skills to begin designing and developing product-service system (PSS) concepts that strategically contribute to sustainability, including application and critical evaluation of advanced design strategies for this purpose. Participants may explore design strategies suitable for physical and digital products, as well as services. The students will learn advantages and disadvantages of various approaches to the above and how to apply and integrate these approaches into different phases of the innovation process.
