Welcome to the Master's Programme in Software Engineering

at Blekinge Institute of Technology!

The distance learning programme lasts for two years, from 15 January 2024 to 18 January 2026.

Updated 11 Dec. 2023: There will be a mandatory roll call and programme introduction 15 January at 09:00 to 10:00 CET via Zoom. You will receive a Zoom-link via email a few days before the meeting.

Procedure to join the programme

1. Tuition fee

Non-EU/EEA students are required to pay tuition fee for the studies. Visit our tuition fee page for terms and conditions for feepaying students. 

2. Activate student account

You can activate your student account when you receive an e-mail from BTH regarding student account. More information and link to activation is available in the Student Portal – Get started. If you have not received an e-mail regarding student account one week before the registration period closes, please contact the IT Helpdesk.

3. Register for the courses

You must register for the courses to keep your place on the programme. Registration is open 22 December 2023 to 21 January 2024. Register in Ladok for students, instructions are in the Student portal – Get started. If you cannot carry out the registration yourself, contact studentreception@bth.se 

4. Roll call and programme information

Updated 11 Dec. 2023: 15 January at 09:00 to 10:00 CET via Zoom. Participation in the roll call is mandatory. If you do not participate in the roll call, or report planned absence to the programme manager via email before the roll call, your admission will be terminated.

Equipment and digital tools

BTH requires students to use their own computers for studies. Your programme might have specific hardware or software requirements, make sure to check here if your program is listed and find out what you need. Additionally, for online education, ensure you have a camera, a headset with a microphone, and an internet connection.

All programs and courses use the online learning management system Canvas. Once you activate your student account and register for a course, you can access your Canvas course page. You can find more information about Canvas, Zoom, and other digital tools you have access to here.

The programme is given at 50 % pace, and you will need to dedicate about 20 hours per week to your studies. You will be able to study at your own pace and convenience, while still being part of a supportive learning community.
