Ph.D. Student Workshop 2020 (internal)

Ph.D. Student Workshop 2020

Note: The PhD student committee regrets to inform you that the PhD workshop scheduled for April has been postponed until further notice , due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

We kindly invite you to participate in the second annual PhD Workshop at BTH on April 17, 2020.

The workshop, organized by the PhD Student Committee at BTH, will be a full day event containing popular science presentations followed by a research poster session, where you as a PhD student at BTH will have the opportunity to practice communicating your research.

The theme for this year is ” Applied research and impact on society “. The purpose is to bring doctoral students together for networking and convey knowledge about the research that is being conducted here at BTH.

Starting this year, participants of the workshop are offered to take part in the Scientific Communication Course. The course offers lectures on how to communicate research to both scientific audiences and society. Participation with presentation at the workshop and involvement in peer reviews will form the practical part of the course.

The course (2 ECTS) has a two year program: one year focusing on the scientific audience (1 ECTS) and the other focusing on society (1 ECTS). Teaching language and material will be in English.

Darja Šmite is responsible for the course and can be contacted for any queries related to the course.
