Carles Quilis Alfonso was born in Otos, Valencia, in 1999. He received a B.Sc in aerospace engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Valencia, in 2021. and M.Sc. degrees in spacecraft design from the Luleå University of Technology, Kiruna, in 2023. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. degree in systems engineering from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden.
From November 2019 to March 2020, he did an internship as Research Engineer for the company Istobal. During the 2020-2021 academic period, he was a Research Assistant with the Department of Cartographic Engineering,Geodesy and Photogrammetry, UPV, Valencia. From February 2023 to August 2023, he was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Radio-Frequency and Satellite Navigation of the Colorado Boulder University. Since September 2023, he is a Ph.D. student in systems engineering from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden. His research interests include radio-occultation as well as GNSS SDRs, ionospheric effects and back-propagation.
