Biography

Mojtaba Hosseini, Senior Lecturer in Industrial Economics, joined Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) in September 2021. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics specializing in international entrepreneurship from Linköping University in 2016. With his expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship, he delivers relevant courses and contributes to the research efforts in the TIEK department at BTH. His research primarily focuses on entrepreneurship at the firm level, analysis of business networks, and the internationalization of small and medium-sized entrepreneurial ventures. Mojtaba has also expanded his teaching experience to project management, and his research interests have grown to include this area as well.

Prior to joining BTH, he had a career that combined research and teaching at Linköping University from 2016 to 2018. During this time, he instructed and advised MBA students while conducting research on the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the wood industry. His research aimed to explore the challenges and opportunities that these SMEs face when entering international markets.

Mojtaba has practical experience in startups and entrepreneurship as well. Together with colleagues from Linköping University and Karolinska Institution, he co-founded Aptevoke AB in late 2018. The digital startup aimed to develop a solution for managing medication for elderly individuals. This entrepreneurial venture gave him first-hand knowledge of the practical realities of innovation and entrepreneurship.
