Carl Fredrik Söderqvist defended his thesis in Industrial Economics and Management

On June 12, 2024, Fredrik Söderqvist successfully defended his thesis on the role of bargaining power in modern labor markets.

The thesis “Essays on exit, voice, and technology: Industrial relations in modern labor markets” studies the growth of the gig economy in Sweden and analyzes how the industrial relations system has responded to changing business models. The thesis also examines topics such as the relationship between how concentrated a labor market is and its effects on the bargaining power of workers.

The opponent was Prof. Koen Frenken from Utrecht University, The Netherlands.
